Welcome to the Muskie Magnet Lures website!
The Muskie Magnet lure offers a new twist on an old lure concept: a rolling action on a jerkbait! This jerkbait is offered in both a 9" and 7.5" model. See our jerkbait lures here:

What will they think of next?
Just when you thought all of the innovative
lure designs had been thought of and tried ... along comes the Muskie Magnet tm lure.
The Muskie Magnet lure is a jerkbait that darts and dives, zigs and zags like many of
the others with one major difference. When the lure is jerked, it's patent pending design
causes a 90 degree roll to its side and dives with a darting action. When slack is given,
the lure flips to the belly down position and floats toward the surface. You can see
pictures on the
(pictures page). It is this flipping action we believe
triggers a lot of strikes. This lure works equally well on musky and pike.
Contrast is important in lure design.
Baitfish have light bellies and dark backs. Why?
Evolution would have us believe that the ones that
were dark on the bottom and light on the top got
eaten and were no longer around to produce offspring
like themselves. How do light bellies and dark backs
aid in survival? In a boat looking down into the
water a white object is much more visible than a
dark object, just the opposite is true if viewed
from the bottom of the lake, a light object is much
more difficult to see than a dark one that
silhouettes against the lighter sky. So if a muskie
is under a suspended baitfish, the baitfish has a
better chance of not being seen if it has a light
belly.
The Muskie Magnet is like a sick
minnow, but bigger.
Did you ever see an oxygen starved minnow in a
minnow bucket? Open the bucket and maybe a few are
belly up and maybe a few are on their sides. Move your
hand toward them and the ones with enough energy
will right themselves and swim toward the safety of
the bottom. Given a few seconds the minnow will roll
back to its side and float to the top. In nature,
sick or injured fish will also behave this way. To a
predatory fish this has to look like an easy meal.
That is why most of our paint jobs are light bellies
with contrasting dark bars or stripes an the side.
The Muskie Magnet takes advantage of this
contrasting color flash. First when the bait is
jerked forward it flips ninety degrees to expose the
dark color of the side, when slack is given it flips
back to the original position and floats toward the
surface exposing the light belly. This provides an
alternating pattern of light and dark as the bait is
retrieved.
